Note
When cutting hoses/thin tubes with this tube cutter, it is
recommended to reserve a length of at least about 40mm on both
sides to make the stress points even, so as to avoid inclining the
cutting surface or deforming the tube.

What are the two types of PVC pipe cutters?
There are two types of pipe cutters. Plastic tubing cutters, which
really look much like a pair of pruning shears, may be used for
thinner pipes and tubes, such as sprinkler pipe. For use on thicker
pipes, there is a pipecutter with a sharp wheel and adjustable jaw
grips.
What is the difference between a pipe cutter and a tubing cutter?
How are tube cutters different from pipe cutters? Pipe cutters,
because they are made to cut metal, cut in a circular motion to
prevent the pipe from cracking. As tube cutters are designed to cut
softer material, such as PVC, they can cut straight down through
the tubing because the material is more malleable.
The blade of a tube cutter is also different to a pipe cutter. A
tube cutter’s blade is made out of stainless steel, whereas the
cutting wheel of a pipe cutter is made from hardened and tempered
steel which is much stronger. Pipe cutters need a harder cutting
wheel as they have to cut through tougher materials.
